1-time classes
Pottery and Woodworking

Learn a new creative medium and get a little dirty at Clayroom! Classes are designed to be an accessible and enjoyable experience for those with little to no prior knowledge of ceramics or woodworking.

TryDay Wheel-throwing Overview: Every Friday evening (6:15-8:15pm) and Saturday Afternoon (3-5pm) at both studios.

​

Demo: Our instructor will start with a demo and break down wheel throwing into easy to understand steps.

Group Throwing: As a class we will go through each of these steps and be more prescriptive about how to create your piece.

Individual Creations: Your instructor will support you through the remainder of the class as you go and make bowls, cups, vases, plates, etc...

Clean-up and Finishing: Our staff will guide you through the cleaning process. Your work will be finished, fired and glazed by our staff, and will be available for pick up 4-6 weeks after your class

Serving Board Overview: Select Friday evenings

In this introduction to woodworking, you'll shape, smooth, and finish a beautiful wooden serving board.

​

Muddler Overview: Select Friday evenings

In this introduction to woodturning, you'll turn and shape an elegant wooden muddler.

​

Post Event Process: 

Pottery: Our expert staff will hand-finish and glaze your work after you leave it with us. This includes bisque firing, glazing, glaze firing and boxing up all finished work. The post event process typically takes between 4-6 weeks. All finished work will be dishwasher, microwave and of course food safe.

Woodworking: Your pieces will be finished during the event and are free to go to their forever homes following the event.

Duration: 2 hours

What you'll make: Get creative on the pottery wheel with co-workers/friends to make functional pieces such as bowls, mugs, tumblers, vases, etc... Class sizes are set at 8 students to ensure a rewarding experience.

Duration: 2 hours

What you'll make: In this introduction to woodworking, you'll shape, smooth, and finish a beautiful wooden serving board.
